FAQs

Here are some frequently asked questions regarding bookings and other general enquiries. If you have any other questions, please email info@southofthewall.com.au and we'll make every effort to get back to you as quickly as possible. 

Questions

When are you open?

South of Wall is open from Tuesday – Sunday. We open every day at noon. Tuesday to Saturdays, we are open until approximately 10pm. Fridays and Saturdays we are open until late with DJs playing sets (when available) to liven up your weekend. Sunday bookings are available for Boozy Brunch between 12pm-4pm and private functions. When does your kitchen shut?

To avoid disappointment, we suggest arriving before 8:30pm if you intend to eat with us. Our kitchen usually shuts between 8:30-9:30 depending on bookings and capacity. The bar however stays open until closing time!

Do you accommodate for dietaries?

Yes, South of the Wall accommodates options for most common dietaries; Vegetarian, Vegan, Coeliac, Dairy, Fructose, Nut, Egg and Shellfish. If you feel that you have a specific dietary and you're concerned about us meeting it, please feel free to ask us at info@southofthewall.com.au.

Tell me more about your Boozy Brunch!

We have 3 brunch packages available. A $75 two hour sitting, a $105 three hour sitting and a $49 non-alcoholic package. The brunch includes three courses of food; Nachos, Fried Chicken, and the Chef's selection of Tacos. The drink options can include unlimited; Margaritas, Mojitos, Sangria, Mexican Firing Squads (Raspberry Margarita), Cosmos, and a selection of Tap Beers and House Wines. For our non-alcoholics, we have unlimited Soft drinks, Mocktails and Juices. We don't encourage it, but if people on your table would like to be served from our normal menu and not participate in brunch, this is possible. Everything can be paid on the day and we do offer split bills.

Can I book a function at South?

Interested in booking a function at South? South can accommodate your function needs from Wednesday – Sunday. The beer garden holds up to 60 people, whilst the whole venue can hold up to 200. Yes, South is open on Sundays for function bookings. Get in quick to book a Sunday function and secure a discounted whole venue rate! Email info@southofthewall.com.au to enquire or head to our events page to gather more information. We might ask you to put in a non-refundable deposit to secure the spot as we will have to block out our whole date for venue reservations and bookings.

Why do you need my credit card for a booking? /
What's your cancellation policy?

Don't worry, we don't charge your card initially. We take card details for larger bookings, or for Boozy Brunch, or on our booking platform during booking. We charge $40 per person if cancellation is made before 48 hours of your booking or in case of no show, as we do staff accordingly.

Examples:

Group Booking

  • For a group of 16 people on the shared package ($25 per person), a 50% deposit of $200 is required to secure your booking.
     

Changes Prior to Event

  • You may adjust your group size up until 48 hours before the event

  • The initial deposit is non-refundable for any reduction in numbers

  • Example: If you reduce from 16 to 12 people, you would forfeit $48 from your deposit (4 people × $12.50)
     

Last-Minute Changes/No-Shows

  • For any guests who fail to attend on the day (based on your final confirmed numbers), a cancellation fee of $40 per person applies

  • Example: If your final confirmed number is 12, but only 10 people attend, you would be charged $80 (2 people × $40)

Tell me about your function packages.

South has a variety of function packages available to suit your needs. We suggest that groups over 10 people consider a package. It can take the stress out of choosing. There are drink packages and food packages available. You do not have to choose both. For example, you could choose to do a food package for your table, and a bar tab or individual payment for drinks. Please note if you are booking out a space, such as the beer garden, function packages are essential, and there are minimum spends to consider. Head over to our events page to take a closer look. 

Tell me about your lunch menu.

Our lunch menu is available Wednesdays and Thursdays from 12-3pm. We do not run our normal menu during these times. We have a variety of burritos, burrito bowls and tortas (Mexican sandwiches) on offer. We also have a wide selection of delicious Jarritos and Strangelove soft drinks on top of our usual cocktail/beer/wine menu. We offer take-away for our lunch items so why not join us for your lunch break?

When can I book bottomless brunch?

Bottomless Brunch bookings are available every Saturday and Sunday from 12-4pm. We offer a $75 package which includes a set menu and an unlimited 2-hour sitting of drinks and a $105 package which also includes a set menu and an unlimited 3-hour sitting of drinks.  

Can I bring a dog?

South of the Wall unfortunately can’t accommodate for pets.

Can I bring entertainment?

If you’re considering booking a space for a private function and you’d like to bring hired entertainment, this is more than possible. It is however a case-by-case situation, and we require you to make a request for entertainment before you join us. Please contact info@southofthewall.com.au.

Do you serve coffee?

Unfortunately, South does not serve coffee. However, if you’re looking for an Espresso Martini, we’ve got you covered ;)

Is there surcharge?

Small processing fee applies to all card transactions. 10% surchage applied on Sundays and 15% surchage on public holidays to support our staff and industry.
